Microsoft Virtual Academy (MVA) a new virtual training portal launched by Microsoft that is aimed at IT professionals. The online learning portal is aimed at those who want to learn new skills and enhance existing ones for cloud computing environment.
The Microsoft Virtual Academy (MVA) offers no-cost training for IT professionals with 100 and 200-level content. That's right, online training at no cost, absolutely free! How can you pass that offer?
Cloud Computing Technologies
Cloud computing is the latest buzz word. It seems, as other IT professionals would attest to, that is the technology that will take us forward in this new age of computing.
So many thin devices like Pads and tablets, smart phones, pa;, tops, even laptops have great opportunity to take advantage of the cloud.
Microsoft Virtual Academy (MVA) is build on Microsoft Cloud Technologies and is aimed at enhancing your skills in cloud computing.
What is Microsoft Virtual Academy? (MVA)
As already mentioned the MVA is a free program delivering structured learning paths for IT Professionals on various Microsoft products and solutions.
You can study the content at their own pace. The courses provide access to the study material. Which could be in the form of online reading, downloading a PDF document, or watching a few videos.
Then you can choose to self-evaluate your knowledge by taking the self assessment test.
These tests are similar to other Microsoft tests in that they mostly consist of multiple choice.
Each reading assignment gains you points, each self assessment test also gains you points. These points then determine your status either Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum Level.
You can also compare your results with results of others, by making you profile public. Doing so will bring you publicity and build a reputation for you, especially if you have high grades.
There are various different tracks that you can take. Each involving different modules and courses. Here are some:
As of today there are:
- 298.6K students registered
- 279.2K self-assessments passed
- 256.9K hours of training delivered
I started with Microsoft Virtual Academy (MVA) a few days ago to test it out. With just reading a few of the assignments and taking a few tests I have already climbed up the MVA ranking.
Currently I am below 53000 in overall MVA standings, and 41 in South Africa. Not bad for a few days of learning. I still have a way to go.
My challenge to you is: how far can you go. Can you beat me?
