SEO professionals do your job for once.

SEO-Ethics I get a lot of junk mail. In them are buried a whole lot of SEO requests and services. Why you ask do I send email that have an SEO subject to junk mail? Well it’s because these stupid so called SEO professionals do not do the job correctly.

As an SEO professional, or any other professional for that matter, do you do your job correctly? Are your clients getting their moneys worth?

I get a lot of requests for link exchanges and I get a lot of emails from companies who want to do SEO for me.

Now here is what bothers me about these SEO professionals. They have not spent any time reading my website.

If they had, they would have not sent those emails.

Link Exchanges

I know that getting external links helps one with page rank. But there is a certain rule about external links that are very important. In fact there are many, but I will mention just two because they relate directly to the junk mail I receive.

Get back links from related sites

How do I know that these so called SEO professionals have never read my site? How do I know that they have no idea what they are doing? Well the obvious is trying to get back links from unrelated sites.

My website and my blog centre around the technical world. In particular around programming, SEO and website development. When requesting a back link, please make sure that you want me to link to a relevant site. To a site that at least is in the same niche.

Then offer me a back link from a relevant site that operates in the same niche.

I don’t want to link to online tax sites, online booking, online music, etc. Nor do I want to receive back links from such sites.

It’s not that these sites are bad, it’s that they are of no interest to me, and I’m sure of no interest to my readers. They do not belong in my niche. So in fact their back link worth is actually very little.

Natural back links

The best back links to get are the ones that come naturally. These are links that are not bought, stolen, or exchanged. They are links created as normal people ink to your site.

Often times you are unaware of these links. But they hold so much more power. One natural or reciprocal back link is probably worth 10-50 exchanged or bought back links.

So why do SEO professionals beg for link exchanges? Well probably because it’s the easiest thing to do. Which means that these SEO professionals are not doing their job.

It also means that their clients are paying for something that they are not getting.

SEO Services

Of the many junk mails I get, some of them are from SEO companies wanting to offer me SEO services.

This really gets the hair to stand up on my neck. If they just read my blog and browse through my website they will realise that I am in no need of SEO.

It’s not only SEO, but web site development as well.

If you are not reading my blog or browsing through my website. Then you are obviously not doing your job correctly. You are then charging your clients for lower grade service.

In conclusion

If you are going to offer SEO or any service. Do your job correctly. Do your research. At least if you can’t don’t charge your clients those exorbitant fees.
