In today's busy world people don't have time to read long posts. That is why short blog posts do so well.
Keep it short
Don’t waffle, keep your post to the point and simple. Make use of short sentences. Make use of short paragraphs.
Use different structure mechanisms
Make good use of bullet or numbered points
- They make the post easier to scan
- Draws attention to important points
- Disrupts the monotony of paragraphs
Use bold and italics to highlight important words and phrases.
Good use of colour is very important. It draws attention.
Don’t use underlines, they are associated with hyperlinks.
Pictures paint a thousand words, use them wisely.
Use Headings for important summarised points
Headings are so important. They summarise your points, as well as break up your post into easier chunks to read.
They also make your post scannable.
Remember KISS. Keep It Short Silly.
