Twitter the social phenomenon has almost taken over the world. Well maybe not quite, but it certainly is very popular. Problem is that many have misunderstood it’s prime purpose.
Twitter is not a free marketing tool. It is not a place to spam your mindless adverts. Twitter is not a place to continuously hock you stuff.
Keep this in mind, Twitter is a SOCIAL platform. To be social means to have a different attitude. It is a frame of mind which takes the interests, intentions, or needs of other people into account when you do what you do.
So how do we accomplish this on Twitter? Well here are a few tips you might consider.
- Post Regularly
- Re-tweet others as often as possible
- Participate in conversation
- Help others where and when you can
- Don be a Follow junkie. Don’t follow all and sundry
- Complement others
- Mind your manners. Say please and thank you
- Bring in that personal touch
- Don’t always talk about yourself
- Promote others
