The heart of a true blog

Would you date a girl who blatantly said, “I have impeccably bad taste in men”. Does it make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. If it does then you are just a desperate pitiful man trying to date anything that comes your way.

In the blogging world it is no different than when you give advice on something you have no or little knowledge about. You might think that you are fooling people, but all you’re doing is making a fool out of yourself.

Love what you do

Having said all that I remind you that blogging is a strange animal. You don’t have to be a born guru on any topic. You just have to have passion. If you have passion and patience, with hard work the knowledge will eventually come to you.

If you “Do what you love, love what you do”, people will see your passion, and they will congregate to your blog. It’s a strange thing. People love passion.

Be genuine but still be yourself

There is nothing worse than a know-it-all, who knows nothing, and who is not genuine or committed to what they are doing. Who wants to follow someone who is a complete arrogant idiot?

You need to show a genuine personality within your blog posts. Show people that you are not a fake, but still be yourself.

There are so many other places that complement your blog that you can use to show your true self. Twitter for instance, is a place where you can either hide behind a facade or show how passionate you are and how true you are.

Too many times we try to please everyone. Do what they want. That might only work some times. If you want to please people then “dress what people like and Tweet about what you like!”. Tweet about your passion, about your blog.

It really is hard work

So many blogs start out with passion and enthusiasm. Possibly a false sense of hope and unreachable goals, only to find that they die off and get buried in the cyberspace graveyard. Never to be seen again

Why is this. Probably because many did not realise that blogging takes effort. In order for your blog to succeed you need to blog regularly and as often as you can, then some.

Some might say that you need to pace yourself, or else you will burn out. “It's better to burn out than to fade away!” At least you would have given it your best shot.

Express Yourself

“Happy are the mobilists, they shall live wirefree” is a mantra that many a salesperson has uttered. The laptop and wireless networking has set him free and enabled him to do so much more for his clients.

Be free to express yourself in your blog posts. By expressing yourself in your blog niche you add an extra dimension to your blogging. Something that is entirely different out there.

Don’t get tied down into thinking you have to do exactly what every other blogger is doing. Free yourself.

This is what readers are looking for. They do not want the same old same old blog posts. They want to have a fresh new look on things, a different viewpoint.

Remember the rules or you might pay heavily

It is said that “there is a £1000 fine if you touch a penguin in the Falklands”. A pretty harsh fine, and a rule that seems a little ridiculous. Nonetheless a rule that needs to be observed.

Blogging is no different. There are rules that if followed will give you a pleasant blogging experience as well as build your community. If not, you and your blog might pay the consequence. What might that be? Well not £1000, but it may be blog death.
