Just released. Problogger.net has been acquired by Google. For us it is still news in the future as the press release is dated 1 April.

But is it an April fools joke ahead of its time. Read the release on Darren Rowse’s blog. Problogger.net Acquired by Google

From the site Darren Writes:

“MELBOURNE, Australia. (April 1, 2010) – ProBlogger, the web’s #1 Blog Tips site, today announced that it has been acquired by Google.

This acquisition will be a part of Googles extension of the ‘Blogger’ brand and a precursor to their new professional blogging suite of applications”

Apparently Darren is to concentrate on his photography school:

“The acquisition of ProBlogger will allow Darren to concentrate on his other projects including his main site – Digital Photography School – and an upcoming project – FoolsMedia.”

It is also rumoured that he, Darren that is, will go on a  long vacation, then come back and write another book entitled “331 days to Build an Even Better Blog”

Now having read that , all the bells and whistles went off. If it had not done so already.

Well done Darren, you beat me to the April Fools Jokes.

I’ve been thinking of a good April Fools prank, but cant beat this one me thinks.
