Don’t be afraid of a quickie

Often blog posts are long well researched well composed articles. Normally articles are of reasonable length, about 400-800 words. Longer than just a few paragraphs. Is this then the norm? Are you afraid of writing short blog posts?
I have been. Have always thought that a blog post cannot be worthwhile and valuable if it is short.
Here are some things to consider.
Pros.
- Quick Sharp and to the point.
- Take less time, when you have little to spare.
- Readers will often read through instead of scanning over.
- A number of short blog posts can be spread over time into a series.
- Easier to optimise for SEO.
- Forces you to stay on topic.
- Less chance to make mistakes.
Cons.
- You feel you’re cheating your readers out on quality content.
- Can be difficult to be brief.
- Can be shallow.
- Hard to start a discussion and drive home a point.
