Do you thank your blog visitors?

How many readers does your blog attract? Whether it is only a few hundred or something as magnificent as many thousands per day, we all have to remember that our readers and visitors make our blogs. Without readers and visitors, our blogs are just  dead words, and we are just cyber squatting.

There has been a big spat lately about comments and replying to comments. Read about it here: Why I comment on A-list Blogs.

You provide a service.

This got me thinking. If our readers are so important to us. Then why don’t so many bloggers treat them as such. If you were to have a physical business that offers a physical service of some kind and a client popped in and made use of that service. How would you treat them? Would you ignore them? Would you argue with them. Would you act arrogantly towards them?

Hopefully you answered no and you said to your self that you would treat your customers, every one of them, with utmost respect. You would pay attention to every ones problems no matter how small or large. You would thank all your customers. After all they are paying customers requiring your service aren’t they.

If you would do this for a physical business, why not for a blog. So many bloggers forget the importance of their visitors. Many blogs are monetised. How do they get their money? Well, easy, every time I visit a blog that is monetised with something like ads, the blogger gets a portion of money for every ad that is displayed to me. They also get money if I click on one of those ads. So in the strict sense, I am a paying customer.

Lose me and you lose money. Don’t you get it.

If so. WHY ARE YOU NOT TREATING ME WITH MORE RESPECT. I am paying for your salary. In part at least.

Your blog, no matter what it is, is providing a service to your readers. People come to you blog to find information, get a laugh, answer a question.

Show some respect, be thankful.

Once you have come to the correct understanding of your readers, then it’s time to take action. Show some respect to your readers. Thank them often. As much as possible answer as many comments as you can, where possible and where it makes sense. Don’t neglect your loyal readers.

Be kind, do not come off as some arrogant blogger that cannot be reached. Show people that you are just like them with similar problems and issues

As a result I would like to thank a few of my loyal readers, and send some link love their way. I might not mention you all by name but you know I care.

THANK YOU ALL.

Have I missed you out? Please do not take offense, you know I care. I only have so much space on my server.

Who have you thanked today?

My challenge to you this week is to thank at least two – three of your readers. You can do this by simply replying to their comments, or sending them an email. Be genuine, be respectful, be grateful.

Have you thanked a reader today?

Remember you can win a weeks worth of free ad space just for commenting. The best comments during the week will get a weeks free advertising space. Check out: Win free advertising for your blog
