Facebook more popular than MySpace

By the end of last year, 2008 that is, Internet traffic figures strongly suggested that social networking site Facebook attracted more users and visitors than its rival MySpace.
With an increase growth 127-percent during the course of 2008, Facebook finally overtook social networking giant MySpace by drawing 222 million users to Facebook.com in December. The first time Facebook beat MySpace was last year April.
Facebook's impressive success is noted in the fact that it was the Internet's seventh most popular website destination in December, trailing only Web giants Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, AOL, Wikipedia and eBay.
With the rise of spammers and scammers s on the internet and in the social networking arena here is hoping that Facebook can learn some lessons from MySpace and implement stronger security; few things chase away business like spammers and scammer.
Not only is Facebook a social networking phenomenon, but it has huge potential for business. When it comes to Search engine Optimisation and Search Engine Marketing, the use of social networks like Facebook has increased, and many SEO companies see great reward by using the likes of Facebook. Certainly if done the right way, promoting your business and web site on Facebook does and can increase you traffic to your site. Increase traffic means increase sales and business.
