If you don't know it by now South Africa are hosting the 2010 world cup, which is only a few days away. 475 days as of this writing to be exact.
But to day is an important day in SA and the 2010 campaign. Because today is the day the ticket sales office opens. At 1pm, you can buy your 2010 tickets. More at this website http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/news/newsid=1021815.html
This is the first of a total of five sales phases that will run from 20 February to 31 March 2009. I don't see any prices listed yet. But it seems that SA residents will be in a special category, category 4. The lowest price I see in in category 3 at $80, that's R800. There is no ways that the average person can afford that. Lets hope that category 4 is much much cheaper.
There are two ways you can order tickets: firstly, you can log on to FIFA.com, the official website of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa where you can sign up for the FIFA.com Club for free. South Africans can also order tickets via the FNB Visa Pre-paid card, available at First National Bank (FNB), by filling in an official application form and handing it in at one of the participating FNB branches around the country.
I can't afford to attend the 2010, but was graciously given tickets to the Federations Cup. So at least my son and I are going to experience a little of what the 2010 fever is all about.
Are you buying 2010 tickets? Are you re-bonding your house, selling your car or worse?
