Sitting at the keyboard typing away has almost become mundane and robotic. I do research, jot down some ideas then start typing whatever is in my head. Then go over that and fine tune it.

As I was looking at what to write about it suddenly occurred to me to ask the question; Why do people blog? What is their motivation? Why did they start their blogs and has the focus changed over the years.

Probably one of the most frequently asked questions in the blogging community is, how long should my blog posts be?

This question has been asked and discussed at length all over the internet. What I found is that there is no hard and fast rule.

But one might think that if a post is too short and readers will be finished in the blink of an eye, too long and your readers might get bored and be gone before they finish reading.

Can you believe that YouTube is only 5 years old. A company that servers over 1 billion videos per day. Do I need to repeat that. It’s amazing.

YouTube.com was registered on 14 February 2005, so officially that is YouTube's birthday. But the first video was uploaded on 23 April, so for many this remains the date at witch YouTube burst onto the internet.

Many would agree that comments on a blog are the lifeblood of that blog. They enhance the blog. Comments build up communities. They encourage and instruct.

Not only does this apply to your own blog, but to other blogs that you read. Leaving comments is such an important role in the blogosphere, but many often let this great opportunity pass them by.
