Apple is full on innovation and at the forefront of releasing cool new technology. Though I do not personally own any Apple hardware, I do see that they can be very cool to have. My son in fact got the new iPod classic 160gig for Christmas. A truly fantastic gadget.

Steve Jobs unveiled the iPad on January 27, 2010 in San Francisco. The highly anticipated Internet Tablet called iPad. Something that is tipped to be better than a smart phone and simpler than a notebook.

Looks to be something of a smart e-Book reader and mini notebook with some iPhone capability

“It’s so much more intimate than a laptop and so much more capable than a smart phone,”  said Steve Jobs

But listen, this has an impact on you as a blogger. Why? Because there seems to be a great surge towards electronic media and eBooks. Which means that as a blogger we seriously need to have eBooks as an integral part of our blogging.

Specifications 10” (24.6 cm) multi-touch colour display. Costs $499 for 16 gigabytes of storage, $599 for 32 GB, $699 for 64 GB. 3G wireless capability costs an extra $130. Data plan is an extra cost. Reportedly 10 hours of battery life. With that big screen I doubt it. 1.3 cm thick, weighs 0.68 kg. WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity Accelerometer and Compass Ability to view in portrait and landscape modes. Runs a variation of the iPhone operating system. Supports iWork. A productivity suite from Apple similar to Microsoft Office. 1 GHz Apple-made A4 chip. DDR2 2 GB @ 667 MHz memory. WiFi models ship in late March, 3G shipping in April.

What’s missing? There are a few things that are missing from this release. Perhaps they will be in future releases.  A marketing ploy perhaps, to get you to upgrade and spend more money.

Notably are:

Camera(s) for iChat, pictures, video. WiFi-based Sync Ability to handle voice calls. It sucks to also have to carry your iPhone to make calls. ...

footprints Darren Rowse of Problogger.net is probably one of the most famous of the A-list professional bloggers. He is the author of a well known and somewhat popular e-Book called “31 days to build a better blog”. He also runs various other blogs, most notable is Digital Photography School and TwiTip - Twitter Tips.

At problogger.net, Darren give tips and tutorials that are aimed at bloggers. His articles are written for the blogger and his blog. Here are some reasons why you should not listen to Darren or fashion your blog after him.

You don’t want to become a celebrity. Darren has become a celebrity in the blogging world. He is famous, well known and respected. He gets hounded by the “blogorazzi”. He gets begged to write guest posts, and other articles as well as write promotional articles for umpteen products.

He is never right nor is he ever wrong. There are times when people just hate him and he just can’t put a foot right. He finds it difficult to please everyone.

So if you have no desire to to become famous, or well known in the blogosphere. If you do not seek to build up your credibility and become a respected blogger. If you do not want to be harassed by other newbie bloggers asking for help. Then do not learn from problogger.net.

You do not want thousands of visitors a day. Darren has built up quite a little following hasn’t he? After many years of hard work I suppose there is a huge community around problogger.net and Darren Rowse.

So, if you hate this community...

Blogging?

Have you been here? You're having a great run of posts on your blog. You keeping up with your post frequency, getting lots of great comments and your subscriber numbers are on the rise. Then it happens. You get writer's block, you're struck down with the flu, or your computer crashes and you have to send it away to be repaired.

What happens to your post frequency, your stats and more importantly your readers? Everything on your blog grinds to halt until your life is back on track. This could take days or even weeks and your readership will suffer as a result, with people becoming disheartened because you don't seem to be posting anymore.

There is a way to combat these outages of content regardless of whatever has caused them. If you plan ahead a little bit and get on top of your future articles, you can ensure that your readers never go without. If you have posts waiting in the wings and scheduled for a specific date you can concentrate on creating fab new content, rather than trying to keep up with your schedule. You'll become pro-active rather than reactionary and you’ll be able to create much better content.

Here are some great reasons why you should get ahead with your blog posts:

1. Less Pressure Pressure is a killer for a blogger. The pressure to keep up with your post frequency can bring on the dreaded writer’s block quicker than any other factor. If you trying to generate great content for your blog then pressure to meet that self-imposed deadline will only limit what you can come up with.

Get out of that pressure loop and have a few days of writing to get ahead and put posts in reserve. That way when...

Commenting on other blogs seems to be an integral part of blogging. To me it seems to be a fantastic way to attract traffic. It is also a great way to get yourself known in your niche. But I think most of all it is a perfect way to show your support of your fellow bloggers by adding value to their post.

Many people have different ideas of commenting on other blogs. This week in our Blog Paragraph Collaboration Challenge we talk about commenting on other blogs.

Here are what my friends have to say. Remember to please browse to their websites and comment on their post. They will surely appreciate it.

I have always seen commenting as a form of social networking and a means of interacting with the author and others who share in a common interest. The author has put in a considerable amount of time assembling their thoughts and crafting a blog post, so anything you can contribute to the conversation is an acknowledgment that you are engaged and can relate to what they are conveying. This is a time to commend them on their efforts and conduct yourself as if you were visiting someone’s home.

Unfortunately, there are those who have a completely different perception and see the comments section as a billboard for their own gain.

I did a post related to benefits of commenting just the other day and here are the highlights:

StoryTelling Once upon a time in a land far, far away lived a beautiful young girl named Bella Mia. She had a nice comfortable and playful existence until she was kidnapped by the feared and ugly Ogre. The only reason he had captured her was to eat her.

He did not eat her right away. In fact the gruesome Ogre threw Bella into the deepest hole of his cave. Intending to store her up as food for later consumption.

Nobody in the village would dare to rescue Bella for fear of being captured and eaten alive, or even perhaps torn apart, limb from limb. A frightening thought. It would be safer for the village folk to just forget about Bella and leave the frightening Ogre alone.

But one brave young man, not very well known in the town, was very upset about this whole situation. You see he quite liked Bella. It made his heart ache so much that he could not sleep. So in the middle of the night he got up and decided that he was going to take action.

Everyone Loves a story. Everyone loves to hear a story. That’s why we watch TV, or DVD’s or go to the theatre or the movies or read books. We love story telling.

Story telling is an ancient art. Before all this modern technology, people in villages would gather around to listen to fantastic and gripping stories.

Since the beginning of time, children and adults alike have always asked; “Tell me a story”.

What is Story Telling. Wikipedia defines storytelling as “Storytelling is the conveying of events in words, images, and sounds often by improvisation or embellishment.”

In today's world of interconnectivity via...

Directory Gaining exposure and traffic for your blog is critical to building a following, readership or even revenue. Submitting to blog directories is a start to the endless road of building your blog.

There are many ways to build links to your site or blog. Some would include link baiting, blogroll link swapping, commenting on other blogs, beg, borrow and well we don’t advocate stealing here. But few are as easy to implement and cost effective as submitting to blog directories.

Helping Others. I believe in helping and promoting others. In so doing you can only help and promote yourself. I have started a few initiatives that lean in this direction. Allowing other bloggers to experience what it means when someone is interested in their blog.

Giving them link love, allowing guest posts, blog collaborations, free ad space. Many are directed to helping other bloggers and also serve to help promote their site.

Now here is a new one. A blog directory.

Directory for Bloggers. I have started a directory service for bloggers. Here is your chance to list your blog on my directory. It is strictly for bloggers and not for anyone trying to hock their site.

All submissions are moderated. I and other moderators will personally check each submission. Also all blogs listed should be child friendly. In other words if your 9 year old kid can’t view it, then it is not child friendly.

There are a bunch of categories...
